PTO Notes: Week of 11/16

After a whirlwind few months, it’s nice to see a light week on the ol’ PTO calendar isn’t it! This week we have Popcorn Sales during lunch periods on Friday. It’s also Spirit Wear Day that day, so make sure your little Bulldogs show off their purple and gold best!
Don’t forget, next week is a short week due to the Thanksgiving holiday. And after that?!?

Thanks for another successful Book Fair!!
The Robert Crown PTO would like to thank all of the RCS families who supported our fall book fair! We had a great turnout at Family Night last night and the kids just couldn’t seem to get enough of all the new books and old favorites!
Our entertainment for Family Night was spookily fun, wasn’t it! Who knew Beetlejuice lived so close to Wauconda?! In case you missed it, click on the photo above for a clip from last night’s shenanigans.
PTO Notes: Week of 11/9
It’s time for the Fall Book Fair at Robert Crown! Classes have been scheduled to shop the book fair this week from Monday to Wednesday, but don’t forget about Family Night on Wednesday, November 11, when everyone is welcome to check out the selection!!
Burger King in Wauconda is hosting a Restaurant Benefit for the school, with proceeds of purchases going to Robert Crown. There will even be special guests behind the counter — Mrs. Diol and Mrs. Maki!!
Then, from 6:30-8 p.m., the Book Fair will be open to Robert Crown families. Light refreshments will be served in the cafeteria and we’ll have fun entertainment as well.

Share with your family members. ***YOU PAY NOTHING EXTRA!!!*** Click here for the order form. to see the variety of cards that are available to you. - November 9-12 is our Fall Book Fair.
- Book Fair Family Night is Wednesday, November 4. The Book Fair will be open to RCS families from 6:30 – 8 p.m. Burger King in Wauconda is also hosting a fundraiser for our school all day, with special guest appearances behind the counter that night!

PTO Notes: Week of 10/12
Calling all RCS dads, step-dads, grandpas and other generally supportive dudes! It’s time for Donuts with Dad! Join us on Wednesday, October 14 from 7 – 8:30 a.m. in the RCS Cafeteria for some quality time with your favorite little Bulldog. We’ll have donuts, muffins, bagels, egg dishes, coffee, juice and other goodies on hand, all free of charge!
Also this week
- Dist. 118 Area Gift Card orders are due on Wednesday. We have so many supportive businesses in the area. Let’s show them how much we appreciate them. You can download the form here.
- Friday is Ice Cream sales and Spirit Wear Day. Ice cream sandwiches and fruit bars will be sold during lunch for $0.50.
- The Great American Fall Fundraiser wraps up this week. Don’t forget to turn in your orders by Thursday, October 15.
- Yearbook sales continue for another couple weeks. We are accepting pre-orders only this year, so don’t miss the chance. Order yours today!
PTO Notes: Week of 10/5
If you didn’t make it out to Pumpkin Fest on Saturday, you missed a great time! The RCS PTO and staff would like to thank everyone who helped make Pumpkin Fest 2015 a huge success — the families who came out to enjoy the day, the staff and PTO volunteers, the Wauconda Area Queens, and volunteers from the McHenry Kohl’s Cares Campaign, Wauconda High School FBLA and NHS, and Wauconda Middle School and Matthews Middle School NJHS.

- The District 118-Area Gift Card program rolls out this week. Order forms will go home on Wednesday, October 7, and are due back on Wednesday, October 14. We expanded the program this year and have 20 local restaurants, salons and other businesses on board. Buy gift cards and gift certificates for the Wauconda, Island Lake and Lakemoor businesses you already frequent to help out Robert Crown and show your thanks for their support of our schools!!
- Our Great American Fall Fundraiser is in full swing. Check out the packet your student(s) brought home last week for a wide assortment of gifts, sweets, wrapping paper, magazine subscription and other items. Product pick up will be on December 1, making this a great Holiday Shopping opportunity!
- Yearbook sales continue for the next few weeks. Click here for a downloadable order form if you haven’t placed your order yet!

PTO Notes: Week of 9/28
… and you know what that means! Pumpkin Fest at Robert Crown is coming up this weekend — Saturday, October 3 from 10-2.
We are looking for volunteers to help with concessions and the Cake Walk, as well as donations for the Cake Walk. If you can help out, please contact Laura Weintroub.
Thank you to everyone who attended our first Family Movie Night of the year last Friday. We had a great turnout and, as usual, amazing volunteers!
Looking ahead, we have another busy week ahead at Robert Crown!
- Poppin’ Popcorn pick up is Wednesday, September 30 from 3:40-5:30 in the RCS Cafeteria. If you placed an order last month, you will receive a reminder phone call with all of the pertinent details. If you would like to help out with sorting and distributing orders, please contact Laura Weintroub.
- We also kick off our Fall Fundraiser with Great American Fundraising this week. The students will attend a brief assembly hosted by the fundraising company to get everyone excited about this great program! As in years past, the catalogs will feature everything from wrapping paper and magazines, gift items to treats. The fundraiser will run from Oct. 1 – 14, with product pick up scheduled for Dec. 1, just in time for the holidays!

Don’t Miss Family Movie Night, Friday, Sept. 25

Robert Crown PTO’s Fall Family Movie Night is tomorrow, September 25, featuring the Dreamworks film Home!
Doors open at 6:30 pm Movie starts at 7 pm
$3 per person, with a family max of $15
(popcorn & drink included)
Popcorn, nachos, candy and beverages
will be available for purchase.
Raffle tickets and glow-in-the-dark
intermission items will also be sold.
Feel free to bring a blanket or bean bag chair.
You can even wear your PJs!
