We are looking for volunteers to help with concessions and the Cake Walk, as well as donations for the Cake Walk. If you can help out, please contact Laura Weintroub.

Thank you to everyone who attended our first Family Movie Night of the year last Friday. We had a great turnout and, as usual, amazing volunteers!

Looking ahead, we have another busy week ahead at Robert Crown!

  • Poppin’ Popcorn pick up is Wednesday, September 30 from 3:40-5:30 in the RCS Cafeteria. If you placed an order last month, you will receive a reminder phone call with all of the pertinent details. If you would like to help out with sorting and distributing orders, please contact Laura Weintroub.
  • We also kick off our Fall Fundraiser with Great American Fundraising this week. The students will attend a brief assembly hosted by the fundraising company to get everyone excited about this great program! As in years past, the catalogs will feature everything from wrapping paper and magazines, gift items to treats. The fundraiser will run from Oct. 1 – 14, with product pick up scheduled for Dec. 1, just in time for the holidays!

PTO Notes: Week of 9/14

Schwans-Cares

Robert Crown is trying another new fundraising opportunity this year. Schwan’s Cares is a division of Schwan’s Home Delivery and offers more than 350 delicious foods, flash-frozen at the peak of freshness and conveniently delivered to your door. This will take the place of Market Day, which was discontinued over the summer by its new owners. Through Schwans-Cares.com you can order from Schwan’s Home Delivery and help our PTO meet its fundraising goals. When you order by September 30, 20% of product and 40% of eGifts Card sales will go back to the RCS PTO. In addition, Schwan’s will contribute 5% of all orders to our organization for the rest of the year.

Here are two ways to get involved:

Order Online: Visit Schwans-Cares.com and enter campaign ID 21619 into the search box located in the upper right hand corner then click to open campaign. Click the “Buy Now” button to purchase an eGift Card or “Shop Now” to place a product order.

Order by Phone: Call 1-855-870-7208 and provide campaign ID 21619

As an added bonus, first time Schwan’s customers can get 50% off their order, up to $50, by entering the code FIFTYOFF at checkout.

If you have any questions, contact Jessica Schachelmayer. Thanks for your support!

Other PTO happenings this week:

  • Yearbook orders continue until October 26. Don’t forget to place your order, as we will not have extra copies on hand at the end of year for purchase.
  • The first popcorn sale of the year is this week, on Friday, September 18. Students can purchase a small bag of popcorn during their lunch period for only $0.25. If you have questions or would like to volunteer, contact Jill Morino or Dawn Lisi.

You can learn more about RCS PTO, our fundraising activities and upcoming events at the first PTO meeting of the year this week:
Wednesday, August 26 at 9:30 a.m. in the RCS Cafeteria.

Here’s what else is going on this week:

  • The Fall Spirit Wear sale ends on Wednesday, August 26. Don’t miss out on the great selection of Bulldogs gear!! We won’t have another Spirit Wear sale until the Spring!
  • Yearbook sales continue this week, through, October 26. Remember that we are only accepting pre-orders this year, so don’t forget to turn in your order form!
  • poppin popcornThe Poppin’ Popcorn/No Hassle Fundraiser wraps up Tuesday, September 1. Those of us who got to sample the Poppin’ Popcorn products can attest — they are delicious! But if popcorn is not your thing, or you prefer to limit the number of times you reach out to your friends and family for school support, don’t forget about the No Hassle fundraiser. We started this last year due to popular demand — RCS families who said to us, “What if I don’t want to buy anything but still want to help the school?” It’s literally as easy as writing a check to help the school and we are grateful for any and all support!

The first full week of school brings our first fundraiser of the year! We are trying something new, replacing the Entepoppin popcornrtainment Book fundraiser we have done in the past with a fun and delicious opportunity from a new company. Look for information about our Poppin’ Popcorn/No Hassle Fundraiser to come home in your students’ backpack this week. The PTO will be kicking off the fundraiser over lunch periods on Monday. If you have any questions, please contact Cinda Hansen.

Also ofyearbook note, we are doing something different with yearbooks this year. We are taking pre-orders at the beginning of the year until October 26. There will be no extra copies for purchase at the end of the school year. Order forms were sent home in the Bulldogs mascot folders. If you need an extra copy, you can download it here.

Other events this week:

  • The Fall Spirit Wear sale continues until August 26. Place your order online today.
  • Don’t forget to submit your PTO membership form — either online or to the school office — by September 11. And please take a moment to fill out the Volunteer Form that was sent home in the Bulldog mascot folder so we know when to reach out to you for help.
  • Curriculum Nights are held this week (Tuesday, August 18 for Kindergarten – 2nd grade; Wednesday, August 19 for 3rd-5th grade). These are great opportunities to meet your students’ teachers and hear about the year ahead. They are not PTO-sponsored events, however, and all communication will come from the teachers.
  • The first PTO meeting of the year is Wednesday, August 26 at 9:30 a.m. in the cafeteria.

Track-a-Thon, Popcorn Sales Postponed Due to Weather

windy clip art

Today’s windy weather forecast is not ideal for running outside, so we have rescheduled Track-a-Thon for Friday, April 24.

Our original “rain date” on the PTO calendar was Tuesday, April 28, but looking at the long term forecast next week’s weather isn’t promising either. This Friday was our best bet for getting in this fun, valuable event.

As a result, we are also postponing April’s Popcorn sale. We will let you know when/if we are able to reschedule it.

Please keep in mind that, while we try to plan ahead so all of our families can also plan ahead, all dates on the PTO calendar are subject to change due to unforeseen circumstances.
